When I’m not travelling, I’m usually either reading travel blogs, or Pinning cute things that in some way relate to travel. Usually, this includes clothes and accessories that somehow tie in to my love of travel.
I may not have an endless budget, but that doesn’t stop me from dreaming of owning some of these travel inspired fashion items, so I put a few of my favourites together that I’ve found around the web recently. Let’s all lust over them together.
Mexican Huaraches by The Frye Company
These may be a little on the pricey side at about $180 (ok, a lot on the pricey side) but I like them because they remind me of the huaraches sold all over Mexico (which, as a side note, aren’t just a shoe, but also a type of Mexican food). They’re cute flats that would pair well with anything, and come in a few different funky colours.
It looks like the Frye ones have now sold out, but you can find similar styles at places like Zappos and Nisolo.
London Weekend Bag by Accessorize
This London-inspired weekend bag isn’t just cute, but it also looks quite big, meaning that even I could fit all of my stuff in it (and by stuff I mean my laptop, purse, clothes, makeup, passport….the list goes on). I actually already have a big weekend bag from Accessorize that I had to buy as a last minute purchase in the airport before my last flight, due to my old cheap one breaking on me (told you I had a lot of stuff) and I love that it looks like a real handbag but serves as a daypack-cum-carry on.
Paris Dress by H&M
Paris is probably the most over-used foreign city when it comes to fashion design; I don’t think there’s a ladies fashion store around that doesn’t carry at least one Paris print or slogan tee. But what I love about this dress is that it could be dressed up or down, depending on the occasion and the Eiffel Tower designs aren’t “in your face”. It’s travel-inspired, but classy.
Colombian Seedbead Earrings by Accessorize
Having never been to Colombia, I can only take Accessorize’s word for it that these are inspired by earrings you would find in the country. Even if they aren’t, it would be fun telling everyone that they were, plus they are bright and colorful to wear in the summer too.
On The Road Again T-Shirt by French Connection at ASOS
This isn’t my favourite style of tee, but I like it simply for the slogan, which perfectly sums up the life of a backpacker or long term traveller. Plus, it looks comfy and light enough to wear anywhere, even if you aren’t flying to a foreign country.
Earth Day TOMS
TOMS are the perfect travel accessory, not just because they pack fairly flat and are lightweight, but also because of their campaign to give back to those less fortunate in foreign countries. I have to say that I love TOMS, although they are the least durable shoes I’ve ever owned and are not designed for heavy wear. Having said that, these white ones with the map design are perfect for spring and perfect for people who love to travel *and* feel good about it. Win win.
Cities Sweater by Topshop
I had to mention this one, mainly due to my obessession with all things pink. Referring back to my earlier point, Paris got a mention on this sweatshirt (surprise), but I love that it’s casual and you could probably pair it with lots of other things.
Star-Spangled Ankle Socks by Forever 21
These are totally over-the-top, but I couldn’t resist including them because I think they’re awesome. Not sure what I’d wear them with, but can imagine them looking cute for a flight with a pair of plain blue or black skinny jeans.

Aaaaaahhhh! I have something of a shoe obsession and now I am desperately coveting those Frye shoes! If we were still in Vietnam, I would totally try to have someone make a knockoff copy for me even though I am already carrying 3 pairs of shoes and really don’t have room for any more… Another reason to look forward to Mexico!

I know! Tell me about it. Huaraches are just one of the things I regret not buying in Mexico – especially as they definitely weren’t $180 there! They look so versatile. And I also travel with far too many shoes – it’s one of the things that Scott and I got a bit of a rap for when we left. I’m not going to tell you how many pairs we had between us, it’s embarrassing!
