I purchased a few new things for my wardrobe and bathroom recently, so thought I’d put them all into a little roundup post!
Burt’s Bees Deep Cleansing Cream – I was looking for a thicker cleanser than the milk I was currently using and, as I’ve long been a fan of Burt’s Bees products (particularly their lip balms) I thought I would give this a go. It’s all natural, and contains both witch hazel and chamomile, which are great for my combination sensitive skin that’s prone to the odd breakout. The smell is lovely and a little definitely goes a long way with this, so it seems very good value for money.
Burt’s Bees Intense Hydration Night Cream – I picked this up at the same time as the cleanser as they were part of a special promotion and I needed a new night cream. This is a very thick formula and, as much as I think it leaves my skin feeling pretty dewy the next day, it feels almost too heavy to use now that the weather isn’t as cold. I think this would be a great go-to night cream in the winter months, but for now I’m just using it after I’ve exfoliated and my skin feels like it needs a drink.
Fila Trainers – After my last pair of Nikes practically fell apart, I was without trainers for several weeks. That doesn’t seem too dramatic, until you realise that I have to cycle everywhere and walk the dog every day – doing either of these things in ballet flats or heels isn’t something you want to be doing on a regular basis. First time ever buying the Fila brand for me, but I love the colour of these and they’re surprising soft and comfortable.
Catrice Luminous Lips Lipstick in Don’t Mind The Pink – Catrice is a budget drugstore brand here in Europe (I don’t know if they sell anywhere in the UK?) and they usually have some decent staple items. I have an SPF concealer of theirs which contains hyularon and which I use fairly regularly, so when I was looking for an everyday lipstick, I turned to them for a look. This one appears a lot more red on screen than it does in real life – it’s actually a more shimmery pink colour – but I particularly love the packaging which makes it look more high end.
Sunglasses – These sunnies were from an independent boutique store in my old neighbourhood here in Amsterdam and actually only set me back 20 Euros. The gold arms give them a bit of a glamorous look but I have to admit that I only wear these when my hair is down because otherwise they make my face look ginormous!
