Scott and I have become so indecisive that we have begun to rely on a Magic 8 Ball to make all of our decisions, both important and irrelevant. And when I say Magic 8 Ball, I of course mean an app on my phone, because I don’t travel around with an *actual* Magic 8 Ball. That would be weird.
“Should we get pizza tonight?” It says no, so we go pasta instead.
“Should we watch Boyhood at the cinema?” It says uncertain, so we cancel it altogether.
“Should we move to Amsterdam?” It says most definitely, so we do.
Maybe I’m over-trivialising things. Of course when it comes down to major life decisions, we also draw out a list of pros and cons before consulting the Magical One for advice. But really, there are no cons to getting pizza. (jokes)
Our indecisiveness should be a worry to us both, especially as it’s gotten to the point where we can’t be trusted to go food shopping together, lest we end up stood in front of the vegetable aisle umming and ahhing over what to buy for that evening’s dinner, neither able to decide on the same thing.
But once again we find ourselves faced with asking the Magic 8 Ball a question. The apartment we’ve been renting since last May has finally sold. We were hoping this wouldn’t happen, not yet at least. We’re not ready, not prepared to haul our stuff to somewhere new, start afresh at making another place our own. And as the prospective buyer wants to move in early, we’re even more pressed for time on making decisions.
What will happen? Where will we end up? Only the Magic 8 Ball has the answer…*
*unless you’re British, in which case Smarties have the answer.
