After last year’s success with the caramel-filled chocolate speculaas cookies, I’ve been looking for some new inspiration now that the weather has started to turn. And lucky for me, there’s a whole world of fantabulous food bloggers out there creating spiced and warming gingerbread recipes so I can fill my boots.
Gingerbread Cupcakes with Marshmallow Frosting + Pomegranate Caramel (via Blogging Over Thyme): Oh my. Where do I start with these little baked mounds of goodness? Warm, spiced gingerbread, a fluffy marshmallow topping and a caramel made from pomegranate juice = one major food coma for Julia.
Gingerbread Caramel Corn (via Heather Christo): Well now I know what kind of autumn makeover my movie night popcorn is getting. This one.
Overnight Gingerbread French Toast Breakfast Bake (via Averie Cooks): Who doesn’t like waking up in the morning, putting French toast in the oven and immediately having their house smell like gingerbread? No one, that’s who.
Gingerbread Muffins (via Cook Republic): Forget Starbucks – you can now make delicious muffins that smell like Christmas in your kitchen, in case you hadn’t already noticed.
Chocolate Gingerbread Macarons (via Life’s A Feast): No recipe roundup would be complete without at least one macaron recipe. And this one wins for a genius combination of two of my favorite things: chocolate and gingerbread.
Gingerbread Waffles (via Alaska From Scratch): Ah, there we go with the delicious breakfast smells again, this time in wonderfully crispy waffle form. Heaven.
Baked Gingerbread Mini Donuts (via Pinch of Yum): If you couldn’t tell from the bagel recipe, I like mini things. Although it does make it easier to eat five of something in one go and convince yourself you only ate the equivalent of one and a half. Oops.
Gingerbread Hot Cocoa (via Bakingdom): Well isn’t this just a big hug in a mug? My cold wintery evenings will never be the same again. And neither will my waistline, I fear. Oh well.
Gingerbread Pumpkin Trifle with Cranberry Pomegranate Sauce (via A Spicy Perspective): If this doesn’t wow your family and friends at a party, I’m not sure what would. But who can wait for a party? Make it now. (that’s an order).
Grain-Free No-Bake Gingerbread Cookie Balls (via Free People Blog): These little bites of yumminess look so good that you could almost be forgiven for thinking that they’re unhealthy. No such luck, my friends. Gorge away.
Pumpkin Gingerbread Cake with Spiced Cream Cheese Frosting (via The Comfort of Cooking): Pumpkin and gingerbread: a marriage made in autumnal heaven. Top ‘em with cream cheese and you’ve got yourself one deliciously tasty cake.
Gingerbread Cookie Cups with White Chocolate & Caramel (via Creative Juice): Cookie cups stuffed with caramel and topped with white chocolate? I think I just died. Or drooled. Or both.
Gingerbread Magic Cake Bars Recipe (via Foodness Gracious): These bars look a lot like gooey butter cake, but with gingerbread flavours, which means I’m sold. But really, you had me at “magic”.
Gingerbread Fudge (via Crazy For Crust): Gingerbread in fudge form that tastes like cookie dough? How can this be?? The 10 year old version of me is doing a happy dance right now. And the 31 year old version of me too….
Gingerbread Biscotti (via Shugary Sweets): Mmm, biscotti; one of my favourite accompaniments to coffee. And now they just got a wintery upgrade.
Chocolate Gingerbread Bundt Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting (via Sally’s Baking Addiction): Sticky, dark molasses gingerbread cakes are my ultimate downfall. And when you throw chocolate in the nix, I go weak at the knees.
