Luckily for us, we moved into a fully furnished flat here in Amsterdam. This loosely means that there was already a bed, a sofa, a TV and a dining table. It also meant that there were plenty of supplies in our kitchen. Having transported a large suitcase filled with kitchen supplies (as you do) across the Atlantic, I was surprised to say the least. But still happy that I’d brought my own things with me as they made the kitchen instantly feel like mine.
It does mean that I now have two garlic presses, though. Yes, I am the person who flies a garlic press across the ocean. Because who expects to move in to a new flat that has its own garlic press?!
Anyhow, now that the dust has settled on the move, I am itching to buy even more kitchen accessories and appliances to fill our itty bitty kitchen (if you’ve ever seen the size of an average kitchen in an Amsterdam apartment, you’ll understand). During the course of my research, I stumbled across a site called Urbanara. Big mistake. I have found myself spending *way* too much time lusting after not only their kitchen stuff, but their homeware too.
Here’s some of my favourite things from their site that I want to buy as soon as humanly possible.
Toda Cheese Board
I’m living in the land of cheese (yes, that was a major factor in my decision to move here. Maybe.) and am already dreaming of hosting my own wine and cheese nights. What better way to present the huge slabs of cheese I’ll be buying than on this slate cheese board? I’m such a grown up.
Agano Bowls
These Agano Bowls (in all colours) are so pretty it hurts. Not only do they look perfectly retro, and thus would look great in my retro-cool apartment, but they would make great props in my food photos. Plus, you can never have too many pretty bowls in your cupboard. Fact.
Onuma Mugs
Speaking of retro, how cute are these mugs? Blue and white are my favourite colour combinations when it comes to kitchen ware and these ceramic mugs are perfect for drinking my Sleepytime Tea from. *slurp*
Limski Tea Towel
As someone who’s always taking food photos, I need plenty of props. This includes pretty tea towels that haven’t been scorched by the stove and complement my plates and cutlery perfectly. These striped tea towels would not only look great as part of a table ensemble, but they are also made in Lithuania and combine a blend of linen and cotton. Plus, they come in eight colours, of which I would want all of them. Love.
There’s even more products I could talk about, like fab wooden bowls and stylish pepper grinders, but my wallet is crying just thinking about everything I want to splurge on, so I should probably stop.
Which products would you love to have in your kitchen from this range?
