I’m sure some of you Grinches out there think it’s way too early to be thinking about Christmas yet. But let me tell you, I’ve been listening to Christmas songs and drinking creamy hot chocolate for about a week now and it’s only going to be full steam ahead from here on in.
You see, here in Amsterdam, Christmas comes early. Last weekend we welcomed Saint Nicholas into the city on his white horse again – here in The Netherlands they celebrate their Christmas at the beginning of December, so celebrations get under way mid November. And it’d be rude for me not to join in, right?
Anyway, all this Christmassy-ness (it’s totally a word) has got me thinking about my Christmas present wishlist for this year. I’ll been a really good girl, so technically I should get it all.
Mani/Pedi and a Massage
The cold temperatures here in Amsterdam + my cheapo Primark gloves = dry and pretty rubbish hands. It would be really nice to get a manicure in London when we’re there in a couple of weeks. I particularly like these candy-striped nails think they’d be awesome for the Christmas season.
In addition to this, I’d really love for Scott and I to spend a couple of days in a spa hotel post-Christmas. After all the indulgence and gluhwein, I think my body will be in need of some TLC.
Christmas Jumper
I know I’m a bit behind on this trend, but this year I’d really like a festive jumper to wear over the holiday season. They look cute and are comfortable and warm – what more could you want?
DSLR Camera
I’d really like a new camera this year, as my love of photography grows. There’s a great article here about some of the best and most affordable ones out there, so hopefully Santa will leave one in my (very big) stocking!
A KitchenAid
Ok, so maybe Santa’s gonna need a bit more room in that stocking than I originally thought. Having used KitchenAid mixers in some of the houses we’ve looked after this year, I can’t imagine having a kitchen without one now. Despite the hefty price tag, they are super handy, not to mention look great on your kitchen counters.
A Well-Fitting Pair of Jeans
This is every woman’s dream, right? To have a pair of jeans that are comfy, the right length and don’t ride down when you sit down. Well, up until they ripped last year, my Levis were pretty damn close. Ever since then, I’ve had to survive with a cheap pair which have absolutely no stretch in them and are uncomfortable and ill-fitting.
What’s on YOUR Christmas list this year?
