Las Vegas is home to some of the finest restaurants in the world and visitors can dine on such a vast array of different foods and cuisines that choosing what to eat can be a dizzying affair. If there is a signature food for Las Vegas, however, it has to be beefsteak. In Vegas, the steakhouse has been elevated to lofty heights and, with a top steakhouse in nearly every casino and numerous equally-superlative choices throughout the city, dining on the best steak ever begins with choosing the venue.
The best steakhouses in Las Vegas
One of the best values in Las Vegas, and a definite favorite with locals, is The Steakhouse at Circus Circus. Cheaper than most of the steakhouses in Vegas by as much as $10, The Steakhouse has a masculine vibe that blends well with the succulent steaks dry-aged on the premises and the beef is cooked to perfection over hot mesquite charcoal. The trip through the less-than-glitzy casino may feel like a downside, but the great steak, great wine and great service waiting on the other side make it a worthwhile trip.
For a bit of Deep South hospitality and, of course, flavor, a visit to Delmonico Steakhouse at the Venetian is in order. The spirit of New Orleans is ever-present in the food and atmosphere, courtesy of Emeril Lagasse. The Creole-seasoned steaks, including the restaurant’s signature rib eye, blend well with one of the best Caesar salads in town.
Craftsteak at MGM Grand is everything that a Las Vegas steakhouse should be and more. The simple menu features fish and vegetarian dishes as well as signature steaks, such as the dry-aged roasted porterhouse and the American wagyu skirt steak, and the restaurant boasts some of the best service in town.
There are many opinions on which is the best steakhouse in Las Vegas, but Carnevino at Palazzo is a top choice on many of the lists. Not surprisingly, Mario Batali’s steakhouse is also one of the best Italian places in town; making the decision of what to order there one of the most difficult any diner will ever make. If steak is the choice, and you book in advance, the riserva porterhouse, buttery-soft and dry-aged for 8 months, is a truly memorable bite of beef. The ‘second-best’ steaks in town are also available here, aged 30 days of more, and the list of Italian wines is among the best anywhere.
Advice for dining out in Vegas
With the exception of the many buffets throughout town, the best and easiest way to get into the many steakhouses and restaurants in Las Vegas is by making a reservation. Visitors can take it upon themselves to make that call; many travelers, however, look to their hotel concierge to assist with booking a table. In addition to settling guests in at the hotel and helping to find cheap flights and other transportation, most hotel concierges will have an excellent working knowledge of the best steakhouses in town and how to book guests in, even on short notice.
