This was where we stayed in Magura, on the outskirts of Brasov in Romania.
It was a traditional working farmhouse complete with cows, goats and dogs and our room had no electricity but was fitted with a wood-burning fire. It was tough to get it going and keep us warm (the nights are cold in November) and it was definitely weird being without wifi or TV for a whole night, but it was certainly an experience to remember. The dogs even became our friends and used to try and sneak into our section of the house for food scraps. One even followed us for two miles down a mountain to the bus stop the following day.
Although I loved our time there, next time I would definitely stay there in the summer, armed with several books on my Kindle to keep me entertained in the evening!
