I have yet to experience a proper American Thanksgiving.
My first pseudo-Thanksgiving was last year in our apartment in Amsterdam, where we attempted to re-create the typical feast (read: ridiculous amounts of food). Scott decided on the menu and helped me with cooking in the kitchen while we drunk Prosecco and listened to Christmas tunes (it’s never too early to listen to Christmas music IMO).
It was great beacuse, even though I’ve never celebrated the day before, it did feel like a public holiday, because there was a different feeling in the air. I really enjoyed it and can’t wait to celebrate again this year – hopefully actually in the US this time!
